Gym access control lets members enter by face, card or QR code without waiting at the front desk. Face recognition removes lost and shared cards, and QR codes suit day passes, guest passes and trial visits. A turnstile, swing barrier or flap barrier at the entrance stops tailgating, while staff attendance can run on the same system.
Membership rules usually live in your gym management software, not in the access control system. Some gym software can work with ZKTeco devices so that members with an expired membership are refused at the turnstile. Members want to walk in without queuing. Face recognition terminals such as the ZKTeco SpeedFace V5L QR identify regular members quickly. They also read QR codes, so one device covers members, day passes and trial visits. Cards remain an option for members who prefer them.
A tripod turnstile such as the ZKTeco Saturn-T1000, which reads faces, cards and QR codes, can control the main entrance. A swing barrier such as the SBT1000S gives a wider lane for bags and equipment, and flap barriers suit premium lobbies.
When a membership lapses, the member should be refused at the gate. This needs a link between your gym management software and the access control system. Some systems support this with ZKTeco devices, so we confirm compatibility with your software provider before installation.
Cards get lent to friends or lost. Face recognition ties entry to the person, so one membership cannot easily be used by several people. Members can still use a card or QR code where face recognition is not suitable for them.
Trainers, cleaners and reception staff work early, late and split shifts. ZKTeco terminals can record staff attendance as well as member entry, and BioTime turns the records into reports for payroll and rotas.
Offices, stores, plant rooms and stock rooms should only be open to staff. Card or fingerprint readers, or smart locks on smaller doors, keep these areas secure and record who entered and when.
