Long-range UHF readers such as the ZKTeco U1000 read a tag on the vehicle from a distance. Drivers do not need to stop and present a card. They suit fleet vehicles and regular suppliers at busy gates.
Dust, heat and knocks damage office-grade devices. Rugged readers such as the ZKTeco SC800, with an IP65 rating and an IK04 vandal-resistant design, suit outdoor gates and loading areas. Fit devices under shelter from direct sun where possible.
Loading bays, high-value stores and dispatch areas should only be open to the right teams. Card or fingerprint readers on these doors, linked to a controller, limit access by shift and keep a record of every entry.
